Why This Site?

Since 1999, after talking with many families and seeing similar to identical needs for assistance, a need for this type of resource - a directory of companies, small businesses and individual professionals - became clear.

The businesses presented under Medical
ServicesVirtual Library and Lifestyle pages serve Baby Boomers and their families, and additional relevant categories and businesses will be added in the future. In today's fast paced and ever-changing society, there has never been a greater need for both pre-retirement planning and extended retirement planning, and it is the intent of 50andholding.info to provide quality assistance for needs and decisions during these years.

Virtual Library is a growing collection of helpful resources and information.

"Retirement" as understood and anticipated by post-World War II generations until the present time is being re-defined as never expected. In the next twenty to thirty years, with advances in technology that prolong life, and with rising costs for insurance and health care combined with uncertainties in our health care system, an aging population may be faced with situations and decisions not previously considered and for which many may find themselves unprepared. With the changes we will see an increasing need for advocacy within the representative areas of service as well as a continually growing need for volunteers to give back to the community in service to this rapidly changing community at large.

Some businesses presented in this directory are local to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex but have connections to other providers in their field outside the local metroplex. Other businesses shown have locations nationwide. While most of the non-profit agencies are local to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, contact information for national agencies will lead to other state and local agencies.
